Intimate Apparel

I saw Intimate Apparel at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival this weekend. My mom and I went down to Medford to see my ailing grandmother and went to the show on Sunday. We tried to get tickets for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but all Saturday night shows were sold out.

Intimate Apparel was...I haven't been able to find the words for it yet. It was good. Any unsatisfied feelings that I was left with came from the play itself, it's writing, not from the performers or the amazing set design. What an incredible stage at the Angus Bowmer Theater.

It was quite inspiring to be at OSF. My heart yearned to be up on that stage. In fact, before we went into the theater we walked into the Elizabethan theater and looked around and as we left I found myself saying that one day I will be performing on that stage. It's never been a goal of mine to be an actor at OSF, but I was definitely inspired.

I need to make my acting more of a priority. My days are so full of my work, my family, my house that I'm so tired at the end of the day and don't put much effort into my acting. I've got to find a happy medium. My company is actually talking about promoting me into a more managerial role, which I hope will be less intellectually tiring than my current position which consists of reviewing, organizing and managing real estate paperwork/transactions for 8 hours. I don't know when this change will occur...probably not for a little awhile...but I sure am looking forward to it.

Love,
Aislinn
